Ruth- August bible studies- Week 1 - Day 5

Scripture

Ruth 1:19-22 New International Version (NIV)

19 So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred because of them, and the women exclaimed, “Can this be Naomi?”
20 “Don’t call me Naomi,[a]” she told them. “Call me Mara,[b] because the Almighty[c] has made my life very bitter. 21 I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The Lord has afflicted[d] me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me.”

22 So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabite, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning.

Observation
Naomi was very bitter as she thought that she has lost everything. Her husband and sons were no longer and she had to return to her maternal family with her daugther in laws.
Application
God had to let Naomi go through some trials to enable her to be open to receive the gifts that he has in store for her. She need to be groom for the blessings that she was to receive.

Prayer
Dear LORD,
As you have prepared Naomi I know you are preparing me to receive your blessings.
AMEN.
